We were brought in by Crossborders to take over a project that had initially been started by another agency. The previous agency was struggling to deliver the website templates on time and with acceptable code quality. We were tasked with stepping in, ensuring the project was delivered on time and within budget.
The designs were already completed, so our responsibility was to develop the templates and integrate them into a CMS. The website needed to be fully responsive and accessible to all users, regardless of their abilities.
Crossborders provided a detailed design document outlining the website templates and required functionality. We collaborated closely with them and the Petersen Automotive Museum to ensure the templates met their specifications and provided an excellent user experience.
We developed the templates using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring full responsiveness and compatibility across all devices. These templates were integrated into a Content Management System (CMS), enabling the client to easily update and manage the site content.
Additionally, in collaboration with Crossborders, we developed a backend CMS using ExpressionEngine. This system allowed the client to manage more than 2,000 items cataloged by us for the Petersen Automotive Museum’s website. Greg Hedges and I worked together to design the cataloging system to meet their needs.
The project was a success, with the client now enjoying a modern, responsive website that delivers a seamless experience across all devices. The new templates greatly improved the site’s accessibility, ensuring all users can easily navigate and interact with it.
The CMS integration allows the client to update and manage content effortlessly, providing full control without requiring extensive technical expertise. The combination of responsive design and accessibility improvements has significantly enhanced user engagement and delivered a vital digital upgrade for the Petersen Automotive Museum.
